As I get to know my senior clients, I also get to know their parents. Parents are an integral part of the senior process. Although it's of course, all about the senior, mom/dad (or grandparents) are such a big part of the process, and are there for support and encouragement. Most of all, they truly know their student, and something I love to do is ask the parents or guardians to share what they love most about the graduate. When I met Kayla's mom, she said, "What I love most about my daughter is that she is truly young at heart. She treasures her friendships, and is very loyal; keeping her friends close to her. She has a very strong sense of adventure, and I love that she is willing to travel and see the world. She is always sweet and kind to those she meets, and is known to be a very trustworthy and kind person by everyone who meets her. When she heads off to college, what I will miss is the livelihood she brings to our family". Kayla reciprocated her mom's kind words, sharing with me at a different time, that her mom is her biggest role model. What a sweet young lady she is, and what a wonderful relationship she has with her mom. I loved working with both of them, and getting to celebrate this amazing milestone.
Kayla is part of the Class of 2018, and is part of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, and Rho Kappa. She loves her english and history classes at school, and is highly academic. "My favorite way to spend a free afternoon is to hang out with my friends", she explains, "I would say I am kind, smart, and happy, and I hope people remember me as someone who was extremely nice to others." High school has been a really positive experience for her, and if she were able to give advice to incoming freshman, she says it would be to really get involved at their high school. After graduation, she plans to attend James Madison University and is considering studying International Business. Lastly, I love the words that Kayla's mom concluded with: "More than her outward beauty, Kayla is beautiful on the inside. She has a compassion for others, and truly cherishes her friendships." I second all of that! She is truly an exceptional young woman, and I loved our senior session! I'd love to meet with you or your senior student if you are looking for a photographer who can celebrate all of the accomplishments of high school! You can contact me HERE to get started!
