Our Summer Teen experience is truly one of a kind! But, I wanted to share some specific reasons today why I think a teen program is so important in the lives of the young people I feel so lucky to work with! If you are a mom or dad (or guardian/grandparent), here are some ways that our shoot can benefit your daughter:As adults, most of us can remember what it was like to be a teen. Our program is for young ladies in the eighth to 10th grades, because they are so often overlooked during these years! I struggled a lot with my own confidence during those high school years, and I wanted to be able to impart some self-esteem to some deserving girls. I hope a portrait session, as well as meeting other like-minded young girls, can help them feel loved, included and that they are special and unique. I hope it helps them see their inner and outer beauty, and feel thankful for the flaws and perfections that make them who they are.
Most teens don't have professional photos between 8th and 10th grade, because everyone tends to skip forward to senior year, when they have their "big photoshoot". While that is certainly understandable, I think it's such a gift to be able to have those photos to look at, share with friends, and pass down to generations to come. It fills that gap between baby photos and senior photos, and no, awkward school photos don't count! The individual session, much like a senior shoot, captures interests, passions, and inspirations that may very well change before senior year. It really shows your teen as they are, in this moment.
This is also a great way to bond with your daughter, especially during our mother-daughter bonding event in May. We are going to be having a mother's tea, to celebrate that special relationship, and to create some lasting memories before your daughter goes to college on her own. As most moms of teens know, those moments where it's solely focused on the two of you, are few and far between. Please reach out to me today to get your daughter involved in this exciting summer opportunity.
